I’m a dancer and dance teacher and last week, while taking a dance class, I sprained and semi-tore my calf muscles from over-exertion. Immediately after the class my calves were sore, but I didn’t think anything of it. Then the next day, I was unable to walk and had to use crutches to get around. I immediately went to see Dr. Chris and he adjusted me and worked on my calf muscles every day for 4 days. By strictly following his medical advice as well as getting frequent adjustments, I was finally able to walk on day 5. On day 6, I was able to teach a dance class as well as participate in a STEP hip hop dance class. Because I am a dancer, this injury thoroughly scared me. However, I |
A Runner’s Experience with Chiropractic
|
LOVE that when I end up injuring myself by running too much, or too frequently, I can get relief by visiting this wonderful chiropractor instead of going the route of many people opting for surgery. I have yet to have a running pain that Dr. Chris can not address within a few sessions, and many times within one session. My children have been treated by Dr. Chris and he works wonderfully with our entire family. His office is friendly and inviting. If not for chiropractic care, I don’t believe I would be running. |
Ray and Doris: Active 70 Year Olds
|
My husband and I are both in our 70′s. We have been seeing Dr. Chris for many years. We have much faith in him as he has helped us to live a better life.
In our time we have seen many different Chiropractors, but comparing all of them together, they can not hold a candle to Dr. Chris’ ability to help people. He has a heart that is larger than anyone can imagine and a practice full with caring. My husband and I are still able to do much of the carpentry and yard work projects that we like, and we are certain that with Dr. Chris’ help we will keep going for a long time. Thank you Dr. Chris for your caring and help. Ray & Doris P. |
Joseph, Top Flight Tennis Player with Scoliosis
| Joe has been going to Berard Family Chiropractic every week for almost two years now.
We had been multiple hospitals and have tried two different braces but Joe’s physical health continued to decline under the scoliosis guidelines of modern medicine. A combination of chiropractic plus massage therapy proved to be the only thing that helped. Dr. Chris devoted a lot of time to understanding and treating Joe for his scoliosis and has also been an unbelieveable friend and advocate. We are truly fortunate to have found Dr. Chris and couldn’t recommend him enough to both individuals with scoliosis and otherwise “healthy” individuals who want to stay that way. |
| I have suffered for many years from chronic sinus infections and allergies. On average, I was on antibiotics 6-8 times per year along with various allergy medications. In 2008, I experienced my worst year.
I had taken over 10 courses of antibiotics. Along with my history of sinusitis, I also experienced a great deal of neck and shoulder blade pain from a previous shoulder injury and daily stress. As of 2010, I have been a patient of Dr. Berard for a year and four months. I am happy to share that in 2009, I only took two courses of antibiotics to clear up a sinus infection, and drastically reduced the amount of allergy medication that I had always needed in the past. Furthermore, I have experienced great results with my previous injured shoulder. I have noticed increased flexibility and a reduction in the tightness of my neck and shoulder blades. After receiving chiropractic care, I am a true believer that it can improve not only your current symptoms, but your overall health. Above all, I would highly recommend Dr. Berard and chiropractic care if you are experiencing health issues that are not improving. Lastly, Dr. Berard is dedicated to his profession and makes himself available even beyond his office hours. |
Charlene: Son’s Sensory Issues
| My son always had sleep problems from birth and along with that came behavioral problems.
We sought chiropractic care from another chiropractor and my son’s sleep improved, but, didn’t last and his behavioral issues did not. I continued searching for answers. After an evaluation with occupational therapy and a referral from my massage therapist to Dr. Chris Berard, my son started treatment with occupational therapy in December of 2008 and treatment with Dr. Berard in January 2009.My son was diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder and for my son it meant he was afraid of loud noises, small crowded rooms, most people, sensitive to touch, etc. He wouldn’t play with any children and avoided most activities outside our home. My son’s examination with Dr. Berard showed many areas of irritation along his spine. We began weekly visits 2-3 days per week with Dr. Berard and once weekly visits with occupational therapy. After 8 months of occupational therapy and 8 months of treatment from Dr. Berard my son no longer needs weekly occupational therapy. He now checks in with his therapist once a month. The irritation in his spine has improved dramatically and we have cut back on our chiropractic visits as well. My husband and I can’t believe the results. His occupational therapist is amazed with his rapid progress. He is not the same child we had just a few months ago. He’s playing with friends, leaving the house, is more tolerant of loud noises, etc We sought the help from three other chiropractors for our son, but, it was Dr. Berard’s restorative style of chiropractic that made the biggest difference. It’s amazing to see him finally enjoying his life. My husband and I believe that chiropractic played a vital role in our son’s recovery and we will always be appreciative for Dr. Berard’s help. |
| I woke up unable to open my mouth. How did that happen? This was scary! But I knew the person to go to was not my dentist, but to Dr. Chris. 6am – I went to my rowing group but all I could think about was getting to the clinic by nine.Need I say that Dr. Chris “fixed” my mouth? Somehow I had jammed one of the joints, inflaming all the tissue around it. I must confess that the work was not pain-free, but I was slowly able to increase my range of motion as Dr. Chris worked on the jaw.
I had to take a break to ice both sides, then he worked some more. Dr. Berard had me come back in Sunday evening to check on everything, as I was going on a trip on Monday. Thanks to Dr. Chris. I knew he could do it! I trust him completely. |
| After months of lower back pain, I asked a family friend, who had worked for Chiropractors, who she would go to and she referred me to Dr. Christopher Berard. About 12 years ago I was struck in the back by a van that crashed through a building I was in.
At that time I saw a well respected Orthopedic Specialist and went to Physical Therapy. Since then I have experienced back pain and sciatica pain on and off. This last “flair up” lasted over two months and I could not get relief from my pain. I went to an Orthopedic Back Specialist and told him “I think I have sciatica problems and it hurts when I sit for long periods”. He examined me took x-rays and said “You probably have sciatica problems, don’t sit for extended periods.” REALLY?! I took those x-rays to Dr. Chris and he sat with me and showed me exactly where my problems were. I have Degenerative Osteoarthritis (Where my injury was from the accident, no surprise there) and narrowing in the spaces where nerves pass through my spine. Now I know the reasons for my pain. He took the time to educate me about spine and whole health. After only three visits I am living pain free. Last week I could not get comfortable sitting or lying down and yesterday I bicycled 26 miles. I plan on Kayaking and swimming tomorrow. I credit this surprising recovery to Dr. Chris’s treatment. Dr. Chris strikes a perfect balance between personality and professionalism. I will be his life long patient and my husband is going to start treatment soon. Thanks for giving me my health and lifestyle back Dr. Chris! |
| At swim practice I took a fall right on my back on the slippery, concrete deck by the pool.
Of course I had no intention of seeing a chiropractor. After my fall, my mom convinced me to go in and see one. Considering the pain I was in, I agreed.Dr.Chris was very welcoming, and I wasn’t afraid at all. I saw him adjust my mom and I didn’t have the feeling of wanting to run out of the office screaming! So, I had a evaluation. My neck was too far forward, my pelvis was shifted, my spine wasn’t what it should of been. Dr. Chris told me that, not all those problems were from my fall. I was adjusted three times a week for four weeks. Within that time, my back pain went away, my swimming improved greatly! After four weeks of being adjusted, I dropped eleven seconds on my 100m back stroke. I came second place in my heat at MVC’s and dropped ten seconds from my 100m freestyle. I even came in first place in my heat at MVC’s. |
Gayle: 19 Month Old Daughter’s Injury
| Last weekend, my 19 month old daughter took a tumble off a chair. She was in a lot of pain complaining that her arm hurt. I took her to the E.R They assured me she was fine because it was not hurting as bad while we were there. Two more days of her complaining off & on passed.I took her to the pediatrician, who again assured me she would be fine, but told me to keep giving her Tylenol & Motrin.
My instincts told me she wasn’t O.K. So, I made contact with Dr. Chris who saw my daughter first thing the next morning. Within a minute of touching her arm, he discovered that there was a dislocation in her forearm. Dr. Chris Berard promptly corrected it without my daughter even realizing what he was doing. She was actually smiling as he fixed it. Since that visit, my daughter has not complained of any pain. |
| What can I say. After falling on ice I ended up with a back injury and two years, two doctors and a chiropractor later I was still in too much pain to do much of anything. Then came Dr Chris and in four months I am almost pain free am returning to my normal activities. All Hail Dr Chris! |
| When I first went to the office I could hardly walk due to back pain. Dr. Berard started working on my back and now I am able to function on a daily basis with no pain. I found out I had a bulging a disc and Dr. Berard took care of me to the fullest. I recommend him highly. He is the best chiropractor i have been too. |
| As you know I was quite hesitant about seeing a Chiropractor. After our visit today, I WILL BE BACK, for more adjustments! I do feel a lot better. My neck isn’t bothering me as much as it was before I saw you. My back is better, and my headache is gone, Thank goodness! |
| Dear Dr. Berard,My son Sean is a patient of yours, and he has said so many good things about your practice that I was prompted to write.
He is the last person to even consider non-traditional medicine or procedures and your talk made such an impression that it totally changed his mind about pursuing surgical intervention and enabled him to proceed with your care with confidence. I’m delighted to hear tonight of the good progress that he is making (as is he). |
| Ouch! What’d I do now? Well, I’m a 65 year old male who ran from the time I was 2 years old until he turned 55 and along the way played football, basketball, cross country, track & field. I swam while my kids practiced swimming, and followed my kids into sprint triathlons until I was hit by a car while cycle training at 55. Never mind the weekend warrior who did all his own home maintenance. At 66 years of age, I erected scaffolding to a height of 18 feet and replaced most of the windows on my house! Just this project got me banged up and into Dr Chris’ care 4 days a week until I could get around again!I think it’s amazing that I’m still walking! And really, the reason I am is because of Dr Chris Berard’s chiropractic care. He has saved me time and again when I thought I was ‘done!’ Only when I recovered enough I would just repeat my endeavors at trying to do everything! Why?! Enjoyment, sense of accomplishment…I’m “healed!”But no! And it is, as Dr. Chris, explained…I’m a mess…my spine is ‘loaded’ (my words) and he’s attempting to keep me from getting worse – so that I can enjoy things I love like cycling and swimming(running, we ruled out…too much impact.) Just doing daily things without discomfort or pain (without taking any medications) is just short of a miracle. Dr. Chris is without a doubt a wonderful, caring doctor who is very concerned about his patient’s well being. Just visit his office, listen to the videos, read some of the pamphlets and books from his library, listen to what he’s saying and practice his advisories. It goes beyond a chiropractic adjustment. From the medicines we ‘believe’ we have to take to our own personal health habits of eating properly and physical exercise, there’s a balance there. Each of us needs to find balance and what works best for us. A good mental outlook and physique is not attainable without working at it. Proper nourishment, exercise, sleep and a chiropractic maintenance program is key to good health. Best wishes to Dr. Chris and his family. |
| I just wanted to say a great big thank you! You saved my day yesterday. I had a screaming headache when I got up yesterday morning with my stomach feeling very nauseous. I was going to cancel all my appointments because I felt so ill.
Thank you for putting me into your schedule yesterday at the last minute and adjusting me. I felt immediate relief. The headache left and that sick feeling in my stomach vanished. I was able to keep my appointments because of your quality care. This morning I woke up feeling like myself again! |
| My TMJ was causing me severe face and jaw pain, as well as migraine headaches and neck pain. I sometimes was unable to open my mouth all the way.I had been told for years there was nothing that could be done. I was skeptical but decided to give it a chiropractic a try.Dr. Chris Berard was very thorough in his consultation. Even though I was going in for my jaw, he still did all the x-rays and scans for a complete evaluation.
Dr. Chris has been addressing my TMJ now for about 14 visits. I am happy to say, I have had remarkable results. Dr. Chris has also been working on my posture and spinal alignment to increase all around results. All these advancements have decreased the face, jaw, neck and overall pain, that I was experiencing on an almost daily basis. I know we have a ways to go still, since I had such a severe case. I am truly impressed at the strides I have come in such a short time. I highly recommend Berard Family Chiropractic to TMJ sufferers who think they have no place to turn. |
Happy Wife – Husband Snores Less
| My husband has been a patient of Dr. Chris for over a year. During this time, I have noticed that he is no longer snoring to the degree that he was in the past. What a relief for me- I no longer have to kick him to stop the snoring
Thank you Dr. Chris |
| Hi ‘Dr. Chris,I just got my blood test results back from my annual physical. My thyroid levels have been borderline hypo for years now. I have refused taking medications unless I absolutely had to. My latest result is 1.93. Normal levels are .3 to 3.74. I am right in the middle!!!! Coincidence that it is 5 months after starting treatment with you? I THINK NOT!!!!!
Thanks, Cindy |
Cindy’s Continued Success Under Our Care
|
I went for my annual physical today. The nurse measured my height twice, then the doctor herself measured me again. Two years ago I was 5’5 3/4″, last year after seeing you for a few months I was 5’6″, this year I am 5’6 1/4″. The doctor said “wow that’s odd”. I said maybe because I am under chiropractic care! Hmmmmmm maybe there is hope for Kelly after all.
I told her to look at my records since chiropractic care started. My thyroid is normal now, my plantar warts of over 10 years are GONE, the carpal tunnel I was considering surgery for is GONE, my pain in my lower back radiating down my legs is GONE, my fibroid tumors have shrunk considerably and 45lbs are GONE!!!! Also…. I went shopping with Kelly and bought a sweater for the first time in 21 years that is NOT plus size. Woooooooo Hooooooooo! :) :) So glad I found you. Happy New Year |
From the Mother of a Young Child under our Care…
|
I would like to start by thanking Dr. Chris for his help with my daughter. She is doing wonderful and her head shape looks great. He was kind and gentle with my young baby and was so helpful to my family and I. He is an amazing chiropractor and I recommend him to everyone I know. When my daughter was born I noticed a few things that didn’t seem The first thing I noticed was that her head shape was a little off. The second thing I noticed was that she was a bit “floppy” due to poor The last thing I noticed was that she was not rotating her neck the When my daughter had her next well checkup I brought up her issues. I just could not forcefully turn my child’s head and make her cry 10 With no help from the pediatricians, I called Dr. Chris. He said to He did an adjustment on her, gently, and she didn’t really mind. He In the beginning of her chiropractic care our pediatrician sent us to This helmet would be worn for 23 hours a day and would put pressure on This approach seemed very aggressive to me. I did not want my child to In addition to her chiropractic care, I had placed a call to the Early After seeing Dr. Peck for a while, we were then going back to Dr. We continued her chiropractic care for many months. She began physical She did continue to see Dr. Chris for another 4-5 weeks and her head She has one tiny spot on the front temple area that is ever so My daughter is now 9 months old, she is happy, healthy, and her head Thank you Dr. Chris!!! |

My 4 week old daughter was constantly crying. For the entire 4 weeks of her life, we could not put her down without her crying, and she cried for more than half the time we were holding her. When she cried, it was a painful cry.
We did not know if she had gas, acid reflux or if she was just in pain. She had a very difficult 30 hour birth, and something just didn’t seem right to me. I had to hold her for 16 hours a day. I asked the doctor if they thought something might be wrong, but their response was “Babies cry”. I had seen Dr. Chris previously for a back problem, and I thought about bringing her to see him, but I was hesitant at first because she was so young. But, I decided to try After the first week, I saw an improvement. She just seemed less stressed than she was the previous 4 weeks. After 3 weeks of adjustments, the results are amazing. She is a completely different baby. We can put her down for 30 minutes at a time without her crying. Considering 3 weeks ago we had to listen to her scream if we put her down just to grab the mail, this is a huge step. I would recommend Dr. Chris to anyone who is experiencing a similar situation with their infant. |
